Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) is a non-invasive FDA approved revolutionary treatment resulting in brain stimulation to reduce depression symptoms.
TMS was first developed in the early 1980s, but it was only approved by the Food and Drug Administration in 2008 for patients who have unsuccessfully tried one or more medications for their treatment-resistant depression symptoms and want to explore other options. It is a technology that allows doctors to non-invasively stimulate the brain and reset it back into health. Treatment has been shown to relieve depression signs and symptoms.
There is no sedation involved with the treatment, no medications are given during the procedure, there is no surgery or injections and the patient is awake and alert.
